Bringing home a Great Dane is like bringing home a whole person, both in eventual size and personality. You will need to treat your 20 pound puppy the same way you want them to behave at 150 pounds. Every Dane I've known has a personality unique to themselves and are quite the characters. Great Danes may be known as the Gentle Giants of the dog world but it takes plenty of training to get there. We recommend keeping up with training throughout their early life from puppyhood through around age 2. This ensures your gentle giant status as an adult. They are very sensitive animals, so keep that in mind when considering this breed. Our dogs love to follow us around, whatever you call it; Velcro, Shadow or Clingy, your Dane is ready to be by your side for life!
Welcoming a Rottweiler into your life is making a commitment to be an amazing friend, because they will immediately become your bestie and won't accept any less. Socialization and Training are the best tasks to focus on for Rottie pups and adolescents, it puts their natural confidence and intelligence to work. Being so smart and active, a bored Rottie will find ways to entertain itself so giving your Rottweiler a job or task can be very rewarding for them and beneficial for your furniture. Don't let movie portrayals of scary guard dogs fool you, Rottweilers are extremely friendly and playful dogs who love clowning around. They are very loyal to their family unit and can adapt to their roles within the family harmoniously. Rottweilers are the perfect Teddy bear wrapped in a Grizzly bear package.
